I just installed MeterBerry last night and I have been monitoring closley. My app memory hasn't been a problem despite having 18 apps on my phone, battery and temperature on the other hand have me a bit worried.

I'm on .132 and have an average battery drain of 5.6% while just idle or texting but when I use the "iheartradio" app my battery drain goes all the way down to 18.1% per hour. I know "iheartradio" is a streaming program but that seems awfully high to me. Anyone else agree? Also, while running streaming apps like Pandora, Slacker, and iheartradio my phone temperature jumps to nearly 100 degrees, is that too hot? What is a good average on .132 for battery drain. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about the temp.

Like mentioned above, I wouldn't worry about the temperature too much. I have seen it go above 100 deg F when doing intensive tasks. However, if it gets higher than about 110 deg F, I would be careful.

Applications that use the network or the GPS are notorious for excessive battery drain, so what you describe is not surprising.

The temperature has never really been an issue for me either. I did hit 117 once and flipped out but I set it in front of the AC unit at work and it dropped 30 degrees in 5 minutes. As far as battery drainage goes that is pretty standard for streaming apps...which is why I have two spare batteries.

Wow, I guess I'm still shocked over dropping 18% in one hour. When I use Pandora it's not even close to that, maybe 8-10% so I guess maybe iheartradio just sucks more battery or something. Anyway, thanks for all the replies!

I aerage about 2.5% of battery use per hour over a typical day.

    I average 2.6%/hour.

I'm at 9% per hr. As for temp, I also reached above 100 once that I noticed (115 I think) while in my car. I put it in front of the AC vent and it dropped like a rock and was fine.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I am curious...

The problem with the excessive battery drain when using iheartradio is that it does make the battery hot. When the battery is hot, it won't charge. Therefore, I can only seem to use iheartradio for about three hours then switch to my MP3 player for a few hours to get juice back in the Berry.

Funny thing is that if I direct link to a streaming .mp3 file, it doesn't drain near as bad, and while its plugged in, it will not drain faster than it will charge, nor will it get hot.

Any ideas why streaming mp3 won't drain, but iheartradio (and other radio app-icons) drain so fast? Anyone confirm if 5.xxx helps?
