My phone basically got corrupted somehow and I had to do a wipe + reinstall of the OS. After doing so and installing a few apps, I got down to 27 MB of memory at start up. I then upgraded AIM, Google Talk and WLM through BB App World, from 2.5.27 to 2.5.32. Both AIM and GT were 1.7 MB downloads, and WLM was 1.9 MB. After installing the three of them, I now boot up at 22.5 MB. How did I lose 4.5 MB of memory just by upgrading these three apps? Was the app size THAT much bigger between 2.5.27 and 2.5.32? I feel like the fact that I upgraded through App World made me somehow lose more memory. Am I wrong to think that?
I did reboot a couple of times and always booted up with about 22.5 MB. But I finally just uninstalled App World and Google Talk, so now I boot up with about 23.6 MB. It just seems very odd that the updates to AIM, GT and WLM seem to take up a LOT more memory than the older versions.
