Tafasa has just released LaunchPad 2.0 bringing along new features and fixes! The biggest feature change is:
"Ability to add Contact icons! These icons will display a dialog box when clicked giving you access to use all the contact fields of the person you choose. Creating an icon is as simple as picking a contact from your address book, and choosing a custom image and/or name if you want."
Other changes include:
- Compatibility with OS 5.0!
- Better handling of small favicons
- Have up to 50 launchers on your screen at any given time (up from 40).
- Performance and reliability fixes.
LaunchPad was the pioneer on-device launcher creator application, and now is even better!
LaunchPad is compatible with touchscreen BlackBerry devices as well as trackball/trackpad devices with 480x320 and 480x360 screens.
Very happy to see official 5.0 support. Worked fine before but with a few glitches. Straightforward and love the new Contact feature. Can't beat the price. I don't work for them, just giving my $0.02.
My phone kept calling one contact for no reason. After a battery pull, it kept saying 'radio unavailable' with a reconnect and cancel button. No matter what I pressed it kept popping up, almost rendering my phone useless. I also hate that with the update all launchers are included in the list of running apps, making it an unwieldy length if you have lots of launchers like I do.
Can you please give me the link to the previous version to go back to?
All the launchers should not show up in the running applications. This is really strange behavior. Do you have any of the old launchers installed? Please make sure to uninstall all old launchers first as described in the update message.
We have uploaded a new version which will more gracefully handle the situation where all previous launchers were not uninstalled prior to updating (which can cause the behavior you saw). You can revisit the same download link to download this version. It will appear as version 2.0 as well. Make sure to refresh your browser when on the download screen to get the latest version.
Thanks for the update. The text for web links (that's all I use) is not holding after a restart or theme change. It reverts to "Launcher" instead of the custom text.
I did delete all my previous launchers as well as the program before installing the update and recreating the launchers.
