I can't wait to try this app. We'll see if everybody starts using this app.

What do you folks know about it? There seems like zero info in their site unless I'm missing something. What's the big sell on this over something like Yahoo messenger? I like adding barcodes and pins. Is there anything similar on Lucid? How about groups - how big can they be and what special group functions are there?

I definitely see some potential, but itll reall all depend on how quick it gets popular, im downloading it as soon as it comes out
There's a little about thing on their site, xeju. There's no huge sell over Yahoo messenger specifically, other than it's a smartphone only chat thing. So I guess you could chop all your dumbphone friends out of the loop with it. :p
It doesn't specify about PINs or barcodes, but it seems kind of unlikely to use that. I would assume a username or something along those lines.
It does have 'Group Chats' of up to thirty people, which is the same as BBM. Doesn't specify about any special functions for groups.
I personally am still rolling on the late 90's MSN messenger wave. Everyone I know still uses that. PS, I don't understand why people migrate IM's. They all work the same. Especially GoogleTalk! You have to make a whole new email and everything, jeez, what a waste of time. Who never had a hotmail / live account?! I mean I understood the AIM / Yahoo to MSN transfer, but now there's like 30 different IM platforms, how are you supposed to communicate with people when you've got all your contacts split across like 4 major IM platforms?
Sorry. ranted off there.
Regardless, if for no other reason, I'm excited for Lucid because I like it's logo. :) Oh and to answer one of OP's questions, nothing will ever replace BBM. People will always use it because it will always be faster, BB specific, uses way less data, and RIM will never embrance a third party application like this over their own native one just because of security reasons.
