OK, so my replacement 8900 just arrived in the mail today, and I backed up the phone like I normally do.
Plugged the new phone in, and none of my apps made the move. The old phone has been wiped clean. Any ideas?

3rd Party Apps are tied to your PIN... you might need to contact the software developers to get a new activation code... or if you used the Crackberry Store I believe you can change your PIN and get new activation codes... but that's just a guess since I've never had that issue.
Man, that is going to take FOREVER to find all these apps again.
That's why I backup my 3rd party apps from time to time using the link in my signature, plus keep a spreadsheet with all apps and activation codes, and download most from the Crackberry Store (they keep a list under my email account address), so I get notifications for all upgrades and can download the apps again very easily.
hmm, I haven't sent my old phone back yet, so maybe I'll see if restoring the old phone will bring the apps back.
fingers crossed.
