I'm looking for some info / advice regarding this app.

Is it any good or are there better apps available which do the same thing.

Also curious as to why it says you need to have sms available?

    Any help / advice appreciated.

Great app if your looking for something that is free. Other security apps available, but I believe they will cost a penny or two. But like I said, great app.

When you go to their web site to have it locate your phone, it'll send the phone an SMS to initiate this.

It's a perfect app if you're looking for a free security (and back-up) app.

SmrtGuard, or the new released BlackBerry Protect from RIM.

Do you know how good smrtguard is with an 8520?

It mentions something about GPS and I know that particular model does not have GPS.

    Thanks

It should work with the 8520. I don't know about the GPS, you won't probably get the "GPS feature" of the app.
