I use an 8320 on Vodafone. I have 9.8 MB of apps loaded on my phone. I understand the total device memory in 64MB. Can anyone clarify how much memory is allocated for installing apps? Cos my phone gets bricked often! Says hardly any memory left. Any suggestions?

You can check your File Free by looking in Options / Status / File Free. You need to keep it above 10 000 000 bytes for trouble-free operation, but you may be able go lower. It's not a hard limit, but rather a margin of safety. Go too low, and your system may crash.

The CrackBerry Memory Optimization Procedure that's linked in my signature is an excellent resource for freeing up memory.
