Brand new phone, latest BB OS .313
installed software OTA 1st, no new icons, try re-install and it says they're already installed. After searching I then tried pulling battery and sdhc card, no help. uninstalled using latest desktop mgr., downloaded alx + cod files then installed them from desktop mgr. I've checked and unchecked the hide and show all options but they don't appear. I switched back and forth between the 2 themes that came with the phone. I could swear M$ wrote the OS code.
thx for the response, where would I find a downloads folder? it's not on the mem card and I dont see a way to browse folders on the phone, that's why I was installing filescout
From the home screen, press the Blackberry button, and scroll to the downloads folder. Each icon or folder has a caption at the bottom to see what icon or folder you are presently highlighting. The downloads folder appearance will vary depending on the theme you are running. Generally, it's a folder with an arrow going into it. I hope this helps.
have you tried just looking in each of the folders that come up when you hit the blackberry button? It should be in one of them. Then again one of the should be the download folder too.

DM isn't completely automatic, some times I have to check the box(es) until it says install. Another issue I have with DM is it wants to delete the folder for language support, no matter how many times I click it or check and uncheck English, it's always set for 'remove'. I'm ignoring it now as I've downloaded at least a dozen times to install new apps/games I've found here and another BB site.
Then another time I wasted my time trying to find jad/alx file converters only to discover if you copy the files to the sd card and browse to them, you can install from there with just the jad and cod files.
now I'm off to find an easier way to assign ringtones I've made to specific contacts without scrolling through 8gb of music on the sd card using the trackball. WHERE'S the PGDN button? Maybe I'll just pull the card then re-install it when I'm done
