Installed apps not showing up? Including App World =\
- Hi. I've had this problem before in the past after installing apps from AppWorld, but it usually resolves itself after I take the battery out and reset it. Basically, I installed updates for both BB App World and I believe the other was Windows Live Messenger. After rebooting, however, neither icon showed up, in fact, both disappeared. So now, I can't even open App World. Yet when I go to application management, both apps are listed there. Taking the battery out and resetting didn't do anything either. Any suggestions?11-11-11 09:18 AMLike 0
- well, first check if they are hidden for some reason, if not, then, press the menu key on the main screen, then go to options and check the download folder, to see if the missing apps are there, if not, then change the folder and make a test with any OTA link for any app to see if it downloads, if not i suggest u take to warranty or tec serviceSatchurator likes this.11-11-11 10:44 AMLike 1

- When on your application screen hit the BB Menu key and select "Show All". If that option does not present itself, then all application icons are already displayed and not hidden.
If that does not work, I would suggest uninstalling the applications while within your Application Manager. Then, perform a hard reset by removing the battery and replacing it after 30 seconds. Finally re-download the applications again after your device is up and running...

Try the same while within your media folder to be sure.
Hmmm. If they show in the applications list, then they should show in a device search as well.

I just tried all of that, including deleting them and reinstalling app world, but no luck. I don't see what's wrong. I think I'm going to contact RIM.
Update: Got it fixed, see my post below.Last edited by Satchurator; 11-22-11 at 06:35 AM.
11-22-11 04:54 AMLike 0 - I just did a little research and found a thread on the BB support forums. My problem was that I needed to connect my BB to my pc and update the OS that way. Got everything working now. This seemed to be a common occurrence based on that thread so I hope this helps anyone else having the same problem.11-22-11 06:35 AMLike 0
