    Quick question guys.

I've had my BB 8800 for about a month and there a few programs that've I've tried and would like to register (blackberry alert, jivetalk, empower instaspell, etc).

However, I'm planing to upgrade to a new BB next year and I'm wondering if I will have to buy all these programs again? Or can the license key move to another blackberry?

    Thanks!

The license key is for the software not the unit, so you will not have to re-purchase the software when you upgrade. The switch device wizard (part of the blackberry desktop manager) will copy all your data & apps to your new device for you.

With JiveTalk, you need to have purchased the transferrable license. Empower will allow you to transfer (just send them an email and they'll get back to you, probably after Christmas). It really depends on the program, the company, and/or the type of license you have, especially in cases where a program is tied to a server and registered to a certain PIN.
