I think it would be awesome if we had a program for our PC which we could use to load an Back-Up file to and it would simulate usage of main Blackberry functions, allowing us to view/edit our phonebooks and settings, and view other things such as SMS text messages and emails that were saved in the backup file.

Actually the reason I thought of this idea is because I would like to be able to save all my old text messages but also be able to delete them from my berry so it will run faster. Having an emulator on my computer would allow me to read old messages as well as perform other blackberry functions.

anyway, is a bb emulator doable? maybe its already out there in development or something?

Obviously the BB SDK comes with an emulator. The question is whether getting standard BB data onto the emulator from your phone is feasible.

so i guess that means its doable? just need a way to load a backup file and work with it on a per-session basis?
