So here's what happened to me, and hopefully this thread will help other people like me since i didnt see a thread on how to do it

I used BBSAK to backup my 3rd party apps, tried to load an OS that didnt take, and had no choice but to wipe my phone and start over. So I get my OS right, and try to restore my apps. BBSAK says "Phone may reboot after back up is complete" then "restoring apps completed". Fail. Problem is, it didnt actually DO ANYTHING! So i try again, nothing still. Dammit.

So instead of asking how with another thread, I searched a bunch of threads and here is what I came up with to get 3rd party apps back on the phone.

Open up your Blackberry Desktop Manager, go to the Application Loader, "browse" to find the "Backup" file BBSAK created. In there is a file called "backup.alx". Open it and load your 3rd party apps back to your phone. Yay!

Hmm that's strange...I always restore my 3rd party apos through BBSAK. I just click on install cod and go to the backup folder and select which one...works like a charm.

I also tried that, with the same success as the restore apps. It said it was doing it, but didnt actually do anything. First time it happened, but i had to find a way to do it differently. Oddly, every other function worked that i was trying to use.

When you restore your apps do you have to reconfigure them? With each hybrid using loader I have to start from scratch with QuickLaunch. Major PIA

I just checked one of my themes, and yes, it has to be reconfigured PITA for sure, but at least you dont have to go searching for them or try to remember what apps you had.

is it only QL that you have to start over from scratch? My apps and themes and settings all go back to where they were before the hybrid installs, that ive noticed anyway...

With Quicklaunch, Berrybuzz, Meterberry and Berrypopup I always have to renter the activation codes. At least QL saves it in a back-up file which is great.

This is the way I've always done it, it's not always perfect but it usually works.

seems like my way cuts down from 15 steps of the backup, down to about 3.... And the restore is about the same

I have BBSAK installed, but I'm not quite entrusting it to replace my established way of.doing things - but to be fair, I've only had BBSAK installed for about 2 weeks. And came across it in forums not too long before that lol
