Number of apps is almost irrelevant. What is important is to not
allow your memory to fall below 10,xxx,xxxmb. And maybe try to
avoid redundancy.

Will vary with the device, more important is the amount of file free memory available to each user. I have 15 or so on my 8310 with 27-30mb of file free memory left. The more the merrier as long as the device can keep up.....

LOL you'll see a whole bunch asking why their phone has no memory after installing a few apps with the storm, I personally have 26 plus 2 Themes on my storm (.103) and have no issues other than the stupid BBM that freezed my phone randomly

There's never too many USEFUL apps. I have at any give time about 25 + 10 themes and don't notice any problem. Notice I said "useful" apps.

FaceBook alone did a number on the stability of my device. I have since pared it down, but I still have 24 non-native essential apps and shortcuts on my device.

So, it boils down to need vs functionality = what AG said.

Smart Flicks is great! You can use it to control your NetFlix account, add movies to your queue and change their position. I use that all the time when I think of a movie I want to see.
