There have been many comparisons on these boards between BB's and the iPhone and something that never fails to get mentioned is how many apps are available for the iPhone. I always find this interesting because it seems to me that other than the apps that come on a phone, most people don't really use all that many on a regular basis any way. so my question to all of you is: How many apps do you have on your phone that were NOT pre-installed and how many do you actually use on a regular basis? Does it really matter if the iPhone has a zillion apps if most people only use a handful?
iPhone has a lot of apps, but a huge number are just plain dumb.
On my BB, I have about 15...
Google Maps
Google Sync
Google GMail
Google Talk
BerryBuzz
BerryWeather
Poynt
ScoreMobile
FreeRange
YouMail Visual Voicemail
UberTwitter
Pandora
Shazaam
Windows Live Messenger
QuickPull Pro
Still have plenty of memory left too... around 61 MB.
I use the IM programs, GMail and UberTwitter the the least. FreeRange and Pandora the most.
One thing often forgotten about the Iphone is that the Ipod Touch uses the same software OS, so if you count the Touch users, then yeah, you can have a lot of apps. I have 112 apps on my iPod Touch. My brother has an Iphone and doesn't even come close to that many apps. So, the Iphone app store isn't necessarily for the Iphone user, but for the Ipod Touch user, IMHO. Clever marketing on Apple's part to have the Ipod Touch use the Iphone software, so that all the apps count as Iphone apps!
As for the Blackberry, I am at 46 apps and counting!
11 apps. Mine boots at 37.7ish and settles around the 27-35MB area throughout the day. I will run shrink-a-os later and see how much of a difference that makes.
Let's see there's pandora, quicklaunch, youtube, shazam, pageonce personal assistant, google maps, socialscope, opera mini, and berrybuzz. So that's 9. I get around 47 to 45 app memory all day long.

Maybe 8... I use... 0 lol The things I do most on my blackberry is view emails, send emails, text, browse on crackberry and use the alarm every morning. So I dont really need any apps... And I bought an 8gb sd card why?

Yes but of those iphone/itouch apps how many are actual useful apps? And NO the fart app does not count as useful.
