    Besides SocialScope or VodafoneUpdate, is there any other way? The FB app doesn't notify you of new status updates from your friends.

    Add your @vzw.blackberry.net email address to your FB account, then hide it from anyone else but yourself. Have your notifcations sent to that email address. Viola push notifications. I usually get mine within about 15 seconds as long as FB is not having any issues.
