i got a 9700 last week and am new to bb. before that i had an android phone and it would always tell you when app's had updates available and let you download them on the spot.

i was wondering does bb app world do anything like this?

It depends on where you purchased the application. Typically, the vendor from which you purchased the application will notify you of updates.
