I'm sure many of you have come across this issue with Facebook 1.9
Messages that can't be deleted from your BlackBerry Inbox
A battery pull won't even remedy the problem.
I was so frustrated with the issue that I removed Facebook 1.9, and installed Facebook 1.8
My only issue was that Facebook 1.8 would not show up in my Social Feeds app in OS 6.
So Facebook 1.9 was my only option.
The Facebook app on your BlackBerry syncs itself with the Facebook app that's installed within your Facebook PC account. Sometimes things get out of whack, and a fresh start usually will fix the situation.
I used to have the problem with old messages showing up, but I haven't had the problem in a while. Especially after installing the Facebook version that comes with OS 6 (1.9.0.23)
I do have issues with messages that can't be deleted. Such as me replying to a post, or liking a comment, etc.
This is what worked for me:
1) Log onto Facebook via PC
2) Account > Privacy Settings > Apps and Websites_Edit your settings > Apps you use_Edit Settings > (Delete) Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones
3) Do a battery pull on your BlackBerry device
4) After reboot, Open the Facebook app on your BlackBerry. After logging in it will re-install the "Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones" app that was deleted from your Facebook PC account.
When things get out of sync from time to time, I repeat the procedure above and things are back to normal.
