Is it any good and is it better than opera..
Yea I have the Bolt browser on my Tour installed and I also have the Opera mini browser installed as well, I'm not tech guru but what I can tell u is first of all downloan both bolt and opera mini. They are free so u got nothing to lose. Bolt is a more of a full website experience. By that I mean you view everything on your handheld as you would on a regular desktop/laptop screen. And on opera mini you get more of the mobile view on websites and I've noticed that opera mini is really fast at loading pages. So download both and keep the one you like. You can find them with a quick google search!
Hope this helped :)

Seeing this thread.. I installed the Bolt Browser. Couldn't get it to work right. I could navigate to a page... but the options button wouldn't work. Hit the options/applications button and the menu would flash and be gone.
Uninstalled. I will stick to Opera.
Bolt browser is my everyday browser on my BB, (actually on it rite now) I really like it IMO best browser available for BB...yes I think is better than Opera.
I use both, have used Bolt for 2 days or so.
I like Bolt's rendering better, it's more "PC like." It also (obstesively) has highlight-copy-paste of page content. It shows what is possible for web browsing on the 8310.
However it does need improving in some ways. #1, when you go back it reloads the previous page all over again rather than from cache as Opera Mini does. This makes its peformance significantly slower there. Also I prefer the way OM views full-screen better, I find the Bolt "split screen" method more tedious, slower, and a screen hog. Likewise there are no zoom in-out options. It also (apparently) lacks shortcut search boxes, and I can't get its highlight-copy-paste of page content to work.
If I had to stick with one, OM would be it. However I like the improved rendering that Bolt has & hope they fix those quirks. (By the way it's the browser I'm using now.)

Same thing happened to me, and so I'm actually fine sticking with the built in Browser. I really have no problem with it and it suits my mobile internet needs.
I think the problem we had with Bolt might be due to themes installed on the phone that don't really work flawlessly with other 3rd party applications. But that's just my guess.
I use bolt when the default browser won't load the page
