Has anyone gotten their slingplayer to work on a 9650? I dont want to get the phone unless this can be done. I know sling doesn't officially support it yet, I was just wondering if anyone had any success with this. If you have, hopefully you could share your method. Thanks a ton.

hopefully sling will offer official support for this phone, with the exta mem it should have no trouble running it either off 3G or wifi.

It's the original bold's .jad but it works for me. (You get a message that some features might not work but everything worked for me so far).

Well, that means it doesn't work with the 9650. I guess we just have to wait for them to support it. Oh well.

Oh damn, I just saw your post. Thats great news. If another person or two tries it and it works, I will hopefully get a 9650. doubleu, try it out, maybe it will work for you too. Thanks a ton and keep us poster.

I had no trouble running Slingplayer on my 8330 and my Tour when it was on 4.7 using the that Bold .jad. But now that I upgraded to OS5, no dice, it keeps freezing and disconnecting saying there is an error. Something in the OS upgrade screwed with it.

Hey, I got it to work on my 9650! (pic attached) I tried the same thing process that I outlined in that slingmedia forum thread above, but this time it appears to have worked.

Here's what ended up working for me:

1) i downloaded dtn82's 'Bold' .JAD file above and modified it as shown in the [code] area below. (I added http://download.slingmedia.com/player/mobile/bb1011/US/ before each .COD url). Copy and paste the code section below into a text file and name it SlingPlayer_bold_EN_US.jad

2) Next, downloaded each .COD files by either copying-and-pasting each of the 34 .COD urls into your browser one-by-one, or an easier method if you have one.

3) Place those 34 .COD files and the either .JAD file (dtn82's or my below one) into a folder on your storage card

4) Fire up the 'Files' application (or whatever method you use to browse files on your BlackBerry), browse to the folder from step 3 and click the .JAD file to install it.

5) Once the installation is finished, click 'Run' and it should start up!

Copy all of this stuff to your blackberry storage card. browse to that folder with whatever method you use to browse and "install" .JAD files. That's all I did!

Firstly, I am happy that you got it working. You seem like a really talented person because those steps just seem really complicated. I am really not a tech wizard hehe. I just use a Macbook for browsing the web etc... so I am not really good at modifying all those files. I bet that I will get the phone and be unable to properly replicate the steps.

Yeah I kinda rushed through that explanation a little bit. I didn't want to host/re-host any of those files, so I tried to make it so you get your files directly from SlingMedia. I'll see if I can simplify this a little...

You are too nice. I honestly didn't even get the phone yet as I like Slinplayer too much to risk it not working on my phone. If a bunch of people get it to work using your method, I will go out and get the phone. It's really nice of you to do this. Lets see if a few people can get it to work.

If someone can do a short tutorial on how to get Slingplayer to work on the 9650 it would be greatly appreciated. I have a touch pro 2 and I am afraid to switch to the 9650 until I am sure that I will be able to get slingplayer working on it. Hopefully someone can gear it towards technology ******* like myself. Thanks a ton.

Can you figure out how to get siriusxm app working for me. U don't need a acct to try it just put ne thing in name and password field. It comes up with service temp unavailable. I'm thinking it has something to do wih internet connection cause when I had my 8350 it would say that if I wasn't on wifi. Siriusxm.com/blackberry

doubleu, if I click on that link with a 9650, will it download smoothly without any hacking? Is there a way to just simply download it onto the phone without modifying any of the files?
