My girl has the Flip and neither of these programs connect.

The broswer, facebook, and bbm work just fine.

I too have a problem with instant messaging but mine is with the blackberry messenger. I can't locate where it is installed on my phone. I know its there but I can't find where. Does anybody have a clue how to locate where an app is on the pearl 8230?

p.s. I have looked in the app folder already, it isn't there. Right now the only way I can get to it is to go to "switch apps" and scroll along that list and there it is. But where is it on the phone?
