Anyone? Anyone?

OK. I don't have a Storm, but I believe the options should be the same for BB maps on 5.0.
From what I am reading you are selecting the incorrect option from the menu while viewing your contact addresses. Depending on how many mapping services you use, you will have individual options for all of them. Just pay attention to which one you are requesting. On my device, I have options to "Open in Telmap 5", "Poynt from here" (which I have set to use Google Maps), , "View home map & View work map", "Show on Google maps", and "Get directions with Google maps".
Go to the contact and highlight the address you want to look up. Hit the menu key, and if you have BB maps installed, you should see an option to "View work map" or "View home map". These are the commands for BB maps. Select which one you want to work with and BB maps will open at the location specified if it is listed in their database. You Just need to select the correct service.
Hope this helps. :D
Tks MADBRADNYC,
That worked.
Good Luck
No problem my friend. Enjoy. :D
Brad.
how in the heck do you share your location with facebook? all it lets me do is bring up a blank text message or send a link by email...
I have the same question...
There are different features supported for different platforms. Unfortunately sharing a location via FaceBook is only supported on Android. For the BlackBerry platform, only email & SMS is supported.
See here:

The sharing via SMS issue has been reported numerous times; but I have yet to receive a response, or see a fix posted by google on their forums.

Emphatically, NO! And, not for a lack of trying...;)
I have reported this now numerous times via email in the integrated bug reporting system. I know Google is is an 800lb gorilla, and it is hard to find every single flea to pick off, but I think this kind of borders on the truly ridiculous.
As I stated in the post just prior to yours, I have not received any response from them, nor do I see any fixes (or ETA's for such fixes) posted in their forums.
The ONLY reason I am upset (although I really should not take it so seriously), is.... Why bulk up the app more to add a bug reporting system which is not monitored or responded to?!?!?! What a waste.
But to Google's credit, other than this issue, it does work flawlessly for me.:)
Brad
:D
^^ Agree ^^
^^ Also agree ^^
Thanks for trying
On my brother's phone, it shows a black version of the icon (to match OS5 i think) and on mine it doesn't. How can I get it to show the cool new icon?
What kind of phone does your brother have? What OS? What theme is he using? Can you expand a bit more than just indicating that the icon is black? What is the description of your icon? The difference you see between his and yours?... More information would be helpful in determining the answer for you.
As far as I know, Google Maps ONLY comes with a semi-folded white map with a black backround, along with a single orange directional line & red GPS pin stuck into it. The map unfolds when it is in focus. This is standard BB wide.
If your brother (or you) have something different, it may be a theme issue rendering it's own colors. That's all I can think of without any more info. But, then again I am no expert. Do you have this newest version installed?
Hope this helps...:)
Same theme -- Precision Zen Tweaked 2 with weather
Both using Nathanix Hybrid 5.0.438 (version 8)
Both have Sprint Curve 8330 (non-m).
My icon is as you described. His was black map with electric blue street line.
OK. It seems that he may possibly have a different (older) version of Google Maps installed, can you verify your brother's version? It may not be updated to this latest release. As I stated, the icon I described is the current standard Google Maps icon as it is today. :)
If he has this version (4.2), I can see no other reason for it to be different than yours since you are running identical BB systems & themes...
I like google maps. My only issue is there's no way to change the direction of the map itself when you're driving. With BB Maps, I select "track up" and what ever direction I'm heading, is "up" on the map.
I agree that an option for this function would be nice for those who would use it. I also think that if comparing functions, Google Maps wins hands down IMO. There are numerous additional functions that Google Maps has that BB Maps still does not. So, for my use, I cannot see any benefit to using BB Maps over Google just for the feature of pointing "up".
Nope. It works that way on my wife's iPhone but the map will not rotate on a Blackberry. You have to turn your phone if you want it to match which way you are going.
