    NP.

    4.0.2 to 4.2.0
    I think the version numbers work like this...

    4=major overhaul to new version

    0=added feature sets

    2=bug fixes

    So, for a jump to 4.2.0 from 4.0.2 indicates added feature sets and bug fixes (since the last digit was reset to 0 again).

    Unless someone else can correct me, this is what I have noticed during all of the previous upgrades. Also Google is notorious for not providing change logs, so who really knows? lol.

    That makes sense.

    I just installed it and within seconds of opening it, it locked on my location almost instantly

    This seems to be a much more solid build already

    No. Sorry, as I stated before, they never provide change logs. But, you can go to their forums, and discuss what is new in this release.

    Actually, there seems to be support for the biking trails, as well as SMS and FaceBook forwarding of locations as well. Hmm...

    Here's a write up from BlackBerryCool...

    Hope this helps.

    Now you're talkin'!!!
    I think they added it for the "IBone", but it would be a killer for BB users to have it as well. It would knock all of the paid/subscription GPS services out the box! Hopefully one day.

    Working pretty well. First time I ran it after the update, the GPS wasn't working. I closeed the app, then reopened it. Now it works. Cool new layers!

    Has anyone tried the "Share this place" feature to send a location??

    I get 2 options:
    1. "Send Short Message"
    2. "Send Email"

    "Send Email" works fine . . . "Send Short Message" brings up a blank SMS page and does not seem to work. . . location did not post into SMS message.

    Anyone get "send short message" to work?

    My guess is that they are reserving turn by turn for their own phones and OS.

    RIM could do turn by turn on BlackBerry Maps if they put the effort in but that would take resources away from other projects. I guess that Google and Apple would like that to happen.

    I can confirm this. I see this too, but you can hit the menu key and select "show recipients". This will at least allow you to send the text.

    But, as you stated...
    location did not post into SMS message.
    Yeah, this would be good to pre-populate into the SMS message. I reported the problem within the app itself (the option just below sharing), which is new/good, but won't hold my breath for a reply. lol.

    Sweeet!!

    And it looks like it doesn't do that stupid thing where it loses .1MB every time you open and close it (maybe just a S1 problem) no matter how many times you do it. I tried it a few times and it seems to be working alright.
