i've recently downloaded the google maps application for my blackberry. is there a way to turn it off? i'm not sure if just exiting the app will stop it from running and i hear it kills the battery.

u can always check by pressing and hold down the blackberry button, it will show all the stuff that's running in the background... also while in the google maps if u press the blackberry button and scrolling down to exit it should be closed after that

Disable the gps on your phones options, when you need to use the maps
re-enable it.
