On the newer Google Maps, the little sign above the blue dot of My Location doesn't go away when I'm moving. It didn't always do that. Is there anyway to get it back to its older behavior?

the only way that I found was to downgrade back to version 4.2.0. I found that highly annoying too!

I appreciate the info. That feature annoys me as well.

What version were you all using?

The latest release was 4.5.1, but Google "recalled" it due to some issues, and has made 4.4 the official current version again.
Any download sites will now take you to 4.4.

I downloaded 4.5.1, apparently just before Google recalled it. I haven't reloaded 4.4. Perhaps I should to see if that eliminates the annoyance.

I had 4.5.1 . I just downloaded and tested 4.4 and the problem goes away with that 4.4 version. Thanks.

I also had an issue where my text would be invisible when I type something into the search bar. These two issues are very annoying so I am downgrading for now.

I was checking here to see if anyone was having my problem - when I click search map, the box comes up for a second and then disappears. Search by voice also wasn't working for me, which was a pain while I was driving. Glad I saw this, going to try downgrading!
