My start-up is using Google Mail for the time being with our domain name.

i.e. my email/login is [email protected] even though it's gmail.

I set it up on my blackberry and am getting mail but it's not syncing in the same way as my yahoo mail account is. Indeed the mail icon just has a globe, wherease the Yahoo one has a Y, making me think it's just treating it as standard POP3, and not recognizing the mail account as a google account.

I think the problem is actually not the recognition, but a problem with RIM and google. Gmail does not automatically sync read/unread messages like Yahoo mail does. You have to manually set up IMAP using these settings: BlackBerry - Help Center

the other problem with gmail (which i don't know if you're having) is that you get a copy of messages that you send. here's a workaround for that: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/gmai...lackberry-853/
