    Hi Guys,

Does anyone get those occasional gold star notifications asking you to check out the popular app of the day, etc. and then when you select it, it brings you to spam like apps within Appworld. An example was it told me to download "the most popular app on Appworld" which was that xray app you see on Jamster commercials where they try to trick ppl into subscriptions?

I'd really like to get rid of whichever app is causing this as I want to ensure that i'm not supporting this kind of crap unknowingly.

My apps that are none Blackberry made:

    Fixmo tools
    QR Code Scanner Pro

An app you already have installed on your phone is the culprit. Check to see if you have an app by the same company as the spam, if not some apps seem to advertise for other companies.
In the thread linked above and in other threads linked into it, several known spam app companies are named. check you apps against those.

I can tell you that I had no such problems with either BeBuzz or FixmoTools on my 9900. You can probably scratch those off your list of possible offenders.
