Hey guys the Facebook update for the iPhone/iTouch is out today. Push
notifications finally! Just wanted to let you guys know.

I think I am having the same issue, and I'm not sure if the contact sync is working either.

Okay I had the sync off, call it a FAIL moment. LOL

All my notifications are pushing. I have had my ringer volume on to see if it makes a sound but the bubble pops up. My sync is also working just fine. I'm glad Facebook put this in the most recent update.

Update: All systems go for me now. Took about an hour but now push is coming through just fine.

In the settings for the push notifications, I just want the red number to update immediately I don't want the pop up window. Which one do I disable? Badges or alerts? Thanks.

Can someone confirm:

I did the Contact sync, and it worked great. Maybe too great. I got the picture and company name, and maybe phone# for a coworker who I had set up on my phone, but do not have on my Facebook friends list. Felt that was sort of PRIVACY INVASION but I dunno for sure. \

I got a push notification earlier so I know that part is working. I just wish you could confirm the popup without it showing an indicator on the icon.

You can. Go to your settings than notifications and finally facebook. Turn off he option you want off. The alerts are the pop ups and the badges are the numbers on the icon on the home screen.

I also got a picture of someone from Facebook and they aren't my friend on Facebook. I wonder if it was a glitch or what not. It is kind of an invasion. I wonder if it is because that information it pulled was not blocked or private. Interesting.

Yep, it matches anyone in your address book by phone number to their Facebook account even if they are not your friend on FB. That's a bit of an invasion of privacy IMO. They should only sync people who are actually friends.

Didn't you have to agree to legal junk? If so you said it was ok for the app to do that.

This update irons out some bugs found in 3.1
