From my own personal observations, everybody I know who used Facebook haven't updated their pages in a really long time. I rarely even bother with mine anymore. I used to refer to a lot of resources on Facebook (friends, businesses, clubs etc..) but now they've all seem to faded away. Facebook is always talking about how many people they have subscribed, and that they are getting more all the time, but that doesn't necessarily equate to how many users are actively using it.
So I'm curious, is Facebook as widely used as it used to be? Is it starting to go the same direction MySpace did?
I think its still used alot. Just look at how many threads there are on here about their mobile site not working right now. And it seems most products you see on tv commercials/advertisements have links for their facebook pages...
I use Facebook all the time! i am on it throughout the day, daily! Nearly more than i am my Blackberry, if the rest of my friends had one i probably would never use it (cos i would have Blackberry Messenger) but i am literally the only person i know (i.e. in my circle of family & friends) who has a Blackberry! everyone else has either an LG model or the gosh darn iphone.
I still use facebook, almost everyday, but you might wonder if im "active" cause i rarely update my status. I have a 180 friends on FB and they seem to be on at one time or another
Me and most of my 196 Facebook friends still use it like crazy and I see more and more friends join all the time so I don't believe it's close to fading. Myspace definitely has seemed to have died which is fine because it sucked imo.

Just because you and your 3.5 facebook friends don't update anymore, I wouldn't draw any conclusion as to what the other 350 million users are doing lol
I actually prefer to access Facebook on my berry because then I don't have to contend with all the crazy "gifts" people give me, or questions they answer like, "Jane mentioned your hair is brown in a survey. Take the survey so we can datamine your FB habits and spam you with Viagra emails." type stuff....

Facebook rocks, I'm on it all of the time. I use Twitter primarily for new feeds, which it does a great job of. Since I have SocialScope I can check both and post statuses on both Twitter and Facebook at the same time...

Hahaha! So true. The full FaceBook is just so full of junk and bullsh*t. I never go on there anymore except maybe once a weak. I check for updates from my phone.

The thing is, if your friends or contacts keep using Facebook, chances are you will too. A majority of my friends and coworkers frequently use Facebook, so for us it's an everyday experience, oftentimes multiple times a day. None or few of us have Twitter, myspace, or other social media, so FB does us well.
Around here, far more women and teenage girls use it than men do. Yes, some men do...just lots more women. I think that's just a natural thing, as women *tend* to be more social creatures.
For me, I got tired of all the meaningless updates (took a nap, having dinner with a friend, who did what on dancing with the stars or american *****, etc.) That and all the farmtown, mafia wars, game-of-the-day, cause-of-the-day invites.
