So while snooping around my facebook settings today i came across permission options for chat login access for facebook for blackberry smartphones...

This could be the facebook side proof that chat integration with rim's facebook app is in development.... Not that this was in speculation before, but now it's showing signs.... i've attached a screenshot

Maybe but maybe not. Facebook chat is already available via BeeJive for Bberry. The new beta version has it and it works great. That option may have something to do with permissioning for beejive.

Nice! The Pre's browser lets me use the facebook IM chat. This would be sweet for you guys. Im still waiting on the facebook app

FB chat would be a welcome upgrade...1.6 has not been so impressive--it is great eye candy but it is a bit slow. Hopefully a new upgrade is on the way.

Probably it is a Verizon issue... with Vodafone Italy no problem at all!!
A great upgrade from 1.5, I hardly use FB from my pc browser now.
As soon as I'll have chat it will be complete.

I think Chat is a predictable feature most likely to arrive in 2.0 probably. Wasn't 2.0 due later this year anyway... around November time?
