Hi there, read a few posts after an iPhone owner said blackberrys were rubbish cos they cant do facebook chat and found out about Nimbuzz so I downloaded it to my 9700 Bold, tried to add Facebook contacts and it said:

"Sorry, adding contacts from Facebook is currently not supported."

So what program works well? I have heard that if you have over 600 Facebook friends then some do not work?

Nimbuzz works. Its very good when it works in fact, I have no idea about the 600 friends thing.

Since installing .421 it hasn't worked for me though.

How did you get it to work?

eBuddy might be the only one but it doesnt list for blackberry

Mobile Instant Messaging on the Go | eBuddy Mobile Messenger

I'm trying to get it on my phone and it lists blackberry but then the model type select drop down box doesnt work!?

It works fine on the 9700.

I can't believe they charge $20 for it. It doesn't even run off of their servers.

I downloaded Nimbuzz today for my 9700. Facebook chat didn't work until I got the confirmation email from Facebook. After that, it took a little while for my contacts to load up, but it works great now. Just gotta be patient
