This has to be one of the worse applications I have downloaded on my Blackberry. It's the 1.7 version but when you try to view the comments it says you can't connect at the time and try later.

Sometimes it helps to just let the screen go black and then check back after a few minutes. I have noticed this too!

I have 1.7.0.22 and have none of those problems. I'd suggest a battery pull to see if that helps - remove the battery with the device on, wait about a half minute, and replace.

I dont love the facebook app either. Always crashing, terrible functionality.
I hate the mobile version too. I've kind of given up using facebook on a berry

I was having this issue as well, but it cleared up a day after. I think the app is just having problems grabbing data from FaceBook.

If you have not downloaded the latest version of Facebook for BlackBerry, you should do so. It has better functionality than earlier versions. Having said that, Facebook is not very intuitive and will require that you work with it in order to become comfortable with it.

I've had nothing but problems with the 1.7 being slow, not connecting, also problems uploading pictures. The older version was great with no issues, 1.7 seems very buggy, I've done battery pull with no change.

FB 1.6 was working fine but ever since i have installed 1.7 its slow, dont load quickly & give error.

Its simply sucks.

Your coverage has some to do with it. If you are in a low signal area, it will continue to say fetching and eventually time out. The 8310 is on edge and is reliable in good coverage areas.

Same here - it took more than 6hr once to uploud a picture, it kept losing connection as well as making all my messages disappear. I gave up on it! Does anyone know if there will be a newer BETTER upgrade soon?

1.0.7.22 here my biggest problem is a failure to update or a loss of connection. If I follow up with a resubmit things work fine. I also frequently have to resubmit my posts.
Previoius versions left me unable to do anything for hours.

I'm using the 1.7.0.22 that came installed on my curve 8330m v4.5.0.131 from sprint and have not had any lagging issues. My problem is that I cannot see messages just send them, and the notifications are not accurate, the ones shown on the mobile site are, WTH?

I am looking for the 1.6 version and everything I have found does not work. Does anyone have an up to date ota for Facebook 1.6 that will run on a tour running vzw OS 4.7.1.61 ?

update I tried the above download from the phone and it actually went thru with the d/l and install however it shows in applications as installed and I have 2 icons one in applications and one in downloads that says archived. Doing a reboot now

It showed in options-advanced options-applications as 1.6.0.21. Clicked fb icon it took my to download page for fb. Found a fb icon in my downloads folder and it said archived. Did that and it reloads 1.7. Where can I get a working 1.6 that will work on my os?

I have the latest version of Facebook for Blackberry (loaded it yesterday) and it has worked wonderfully. I'm on AT&T, wonder if that makes a difference? Hated the old version.

What irritates the **** out of me about 1.7 is that it absolutely REFUSES to show my profile pic. I've done battery pulls, refreshes, cleared the cache, tried other photos, NOTHING works. I get an icon of a photo torn in two and it tells me image unavailable. Total garbage.

That is a problem with facebook itself making changes to the privacy settings not the app. I can tell you how to fix it. This is what I had to do, go into fb app, click bb button, options, then sign out. once you sing back in, the pic will show up. Has worked for me everytime.

And I guess peeps forgot that is 1.6 you could not like things, would also not work with people with iphones, and could not view links or pics people posted in their newsfeed.
