Facebook App not marking notification email as read in Gmail
- Hi I just got my Storm yesterday and am already in love with it, however I have an annoying problem that may be impossible to fix or it may just be in a setting I haven't found. The Facebook application seems to work by taking the emails I get from Facebook and displaying them in a separate application for Facebook, which is wonderful. However once I read a notification it does not mark the email as read in Gmail, like all my other messages do. So when I go back to Gmail I might have 4 or 5 unread emails, and they're all Facebook. If anyone knows how to make the Facebook application mark my emails as read I would love to hear about it. I haven't found a "confirm read" option for the Facebook app yet, I think that's what makes my other emails appear as read in Gmail and my other IMAP account.02-24-09 08:59 PMLike 0

- The only relevant option in the actual Facebook app is "Leave email notification messages on mail server"
I want to leave the messages on the mail server so I can go back to them later in Gmail but I would just like to mark them as read. I suppose I could just make a filter in Gmail to mark all Facebook emails as read but that doesn't help people who don't use Gmail, and I would like to find a solution on the device.02-24-09 09:08 PMLike 0 - pcgizmo#IMCrackBerry Ph.D.I have a yahoo mail account associated with my FB account and I don't get those emails pushed to my Storm. But the FB app will have the red and white star.
However, if I delete the mail account from the Storm, the FB app loses the notification alert function.12-17-09 02:53 PMLike 0 - I had the same problem. I made a free GMX email account just for Facebook and it doesn't have the problem gmail does.

1. Create a folder/label called "Facebook" on Gmail.com
2. Set Gmail to automatically mark Facebook emails as read
3. Your Facebook notifications will still get through but you won't have to see the new ones in your Gmail folder on your phone03-29-10 01:15 AMLike 0
