i wasn't able to get the facebook app or berry weather to work.. i don't have a blackberry data plan, i just have medianet. i had an error with opera mini at first (it had worked in the past) but i had it run the network scan thing, and it then worked. i have TCP configured properly, and the blackberry browser works, gmail works, etc.

    thanks for the help

Facebook requires a BIS plan. There is no way to get around that without going to one of the old versions (pre 1.6). Not sure about BW.

There are a couple threads on here that will provide a download for it.

There is only one carrier/plan I know of that would allow Facebook to work without a data plan. Telus' Student Plan has no data (browser, email, app world, etc), but allows BBM, Facebook, and other RIM I'm apps (WLM, YM, etc).

    Otherwise no.

I also don't have a data plan, but I use apps that allow me to do Facebook, Twitter, maps, email, IMs and more, all over Wi-Fi.
Check my blog post where I list them all, including their download links.
