ok everyone, so theres been a 1.8 beta release of facebook by BlackBerry Beta Zone and its quite an improvement.
now dont get your hopes up too much, its merely a maintenance update rather than a total overhaul (im guessing FB2.0 or when BB6 comes?), it does however pack some wicked features, main one being it caches your info in the same way as the Twitter for BlackBerry app now does, so you can set a refresh rate (manual option also available) and this means it loads super quick, personally its now at a speed that nobody can ever complain about, on my storm2 there is no lag and even jumping profiles is fast too.
So far I am disappointed in Beta Zone. I have gotten one invite and it was for the Podcast App, which I tried and removed almost immediately. I use FB and BBM every day and not invite.

Maybe you should have tested and helped them with the podcast app instead of just removing it right away. Why would they invite people who arent helping them with other betas?

I gave them my feedback on the podcast app. I know it is useful for others but I don't have time in my day to download and listen to podcasts. I can't listen to them at work and don't have time when I get home with three little kids who I want to play with and see what they did at school, help with homework, etc. .
I actually kept it on there for at least 4 hours, went through all the options, looked at all of the available podcasts, downloaded a couple, read other people's feedback and then figured out it is not something that I would use. They prompted me to fill out a survey and I gave them honest answers.
If they would have picked me for BBM I would have beta tested the crap out of it because I use it every day with coworkers and friends. I am not a FB junkie but I do use it. I deleted the 1.7 app because it is horrible. It takes minutes to load a single picture. If I want to check it I just go to my Bolt browser.
