Ok I'm a blackberry supporter, And I agree with what most everybody is saying. But the bb facebook app IN NO WAY the iphone app minus the chat. That is simply false. I'm not saying i dislike the facebook app for bb, I'm just saying, don't be blind. They are vastly different.

Downloaded the latest version of the Facebook 1.6 app and it is working on 5.0.0.190 on my bold. 1.6.0.22 is the version i downloaded.

The main purpose for fb 1.7 is to work on OS 5. So with OS 5 not officially available yet, theres no reason for them to release it yet. See..

Oh okay it makes sense, So since the OS 5.0 are being leaked..... we're a day closer to seeing FB1.7! Hopefully it has more features than this one, like a better search function. But overall it's a good app to have

I can't understand the need for fb chat on a smartphone anyways. It's often doesn't even bloody work off a pc ..... the app for blackberry is great, just waiting for 1.7!

I think the fb app is good, but it could be better. I want to be able to know when someone 'likes' my status. It would also be nice if you could like things from within the app itself. I also need the ability to delete my status updates and other posts from my profile without having to go to the mobile site to do so.

I actually prefer the mobile site to the app. I would never get any sort of notifications from it whenever someone commented on my status or wrote on my wall, etc. I stopped using it and used the mobile site and just yesterday finally deleted the app off my phone to conserve space.

1.7 is a nice update. I just upgraded on my curve. Still not where we'd all want it to be (chat etc.) but you can 'like' from the app w/out having to go mobile and it refreshes the look. I like it, its a good progression. Really looking forward to where RIM takes it on the next iteration

It's a lot better just the fact that you can now comment on posts from people with Iphones without an error message is worth the upgrade.
