yeah, i'm still looking for a 1.6.0.22 download that actually works. The bbhybrids link results with the 907 error when downloading from the BB browser.

EDIT: Looks like it may be an issue with me not having BIS. Is there any way someone could get the COD/ALX files for Facebook 1.6.0.22 and post them? Thanks!

How did you install facebook? At my BB it doesn't automatically install, so I have to open it. But my stupid BB 9700 shows me always the following text:
"Unable to display file/Media Card/facebook rar."
What do I have to do to get Facebook working?

Some information that might help you:
1. I am a new user to BB without any experience.
2. I am using the BB Bold 9700 without an contract or any BB services.
3. I'd just like to use Facebook. As I don't have BB services, I cannot use the newest version of Fb, so I think it should work with the old one.
4. I tried to download the 1.6 at the BB website, but it says, my device does not support this version.

Any1 got an idea? Thanks!

You need to download it to your desktop then unzip it. Once you do that, you can load Facebook via Apploader in Desktop Manager.

Well, when I download the file, I get a .rar file, so I cannot unzip it.

I installed it and I got the Facebook icon in the Applications folder. But when I try to log in, it says, like v1.7 that it could not connect, because a data service is not available.
When I go to Settings/Applications/Addons, it shows me that the Facebook Version is 1.6.0.22 ALXmake.
I thought, v1.6.0.22 will work without data plans.
Is Facebook working on your device without data plans, just with Wifi?
Btw, what firmware are you using, because I am currently using the v5.0.0.423

It shouldn't matter which carrier you have. I have a data plan so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. I know you cannot get the ota download version from RIM's site via wifi.

Here you go! There are 4 versions in this .ZIP file:

- FB 1.6.0.17 for OS 4.5
- FB 1.5 for OS 4.6 if you wanna save battery and ram
- FB 1.6.0.22 for OS 5.0
- FB 1.6.0.21 for 4.6

Remember to delete all the previous installed version before you try the new one. If you can't see the icon after the installation, try another one.

I'm installing the OS 4.5.186 in my 8830, previously I had my 8839 installed with facebook v.17 as the default but, I'm missing the icon in my menu. Recently I've installed the 1.6 but still the icon won't show. I don't have a data plan. Can you help me guys? I plan to use the GPRS coonection while I'm only register the BIS mail without internet connection. anyone have a clue?

1.6.0.21 did not work
1.7 did not work b/c it requires BIS

I am running os 5.0.0.411

You will need to download the cod/alx and install through the loader b/c eventhough there is a OTA link for FB 1.6, you need BIS to download it
