Is anyone else using 1.5? If so, only a few of my contacts will sync, and wondering why

haven't found any OTA links that will allow me to install, so DM was the only way to get it for me on the Bold.

I can't find a link on that page to download it from. Can you get it from blackberry.com?

There is a zip file attached to the OP's post. Download, extract and install via DM.

It's not offical as yet, so you can't get it from BB yet.

To be honest, I didn't even realise it was updated, I figured it must have failed with the install or something.

I didn't use 1.2 musch, so not really sure, all - can confirm is that the contacts syncing doesn't work very well.

The thing I've found with the contacts sync is that there needs to be several points od contact for it to sync.. It won't just sync if you have a name only.
The contacts I have that have synced have emails or mobile numbers that match the contact in facebook.
    Hope that helps

Edit: try adding an email to a contact in your BB taken from their Facebook profile, did this for my sister in law and it was synced after the addition.

What are some differences between 1.2 and 1.5?

Also, when will it become official?

The syncing of contacts being discussed here is one major difference. You can also reply to comments. In addition, the FB calendar is now integrated into the BB calendar. FB is also much more integrated in BB menus. It's still not a great FB app, at least when compared with the iPhone version, but I could never go back to 1.2 from the 1.5 beta.

Just found that if you look at your friend list via 1.5, go to the menu, there is an option to connect that person with a contact, it then syncs.

The option above worked too, adding a second matching bit of info (email address) also forced a sync.

Why would you want to chat with anyone who you can't pin? They are clearly not worthy of chatting to someone with such a great phone.

Haha. Well none of my friends have a BlackBerry so...AND you can only PIN BlackBerry users.

    They are not worthy.

Would be nice though, BB's just aren't connected enough. 3G,WiFi, ICQ,MSN, AOL, GT, Yahoo, Email, Skype, Calling, PIN. Simply not enough. :-p

I am no coder, but I don't know if they could, it is all web based, so it maybe upto Facebook to add it to the mobile site, which creates some pretty big issues with browser compatability.

They could just add it to the BlackBerry app.
