Went to the Opera web site on my phone (mini.opera.com) and have not been able to download any of the versions of Opera. I keep getting a "Download Failed" message. Any ideas? I have a Pearl running OS 4.3.0.71

I had that problem too. Never figured out how to make the OTA download work.

I ended up downloading the app on my desktop and installing it with DTM. Worked like a charm that way.

try downloading from wap.getjar.com
search there for opera mini & choose the version which u want to DL (4.1 or 4.0 or older)

but opera needs APN to access, may be due to this
