Does anyone know of any software (preferably free) to edit MP3 info while on on your blackberry? I know of software for the pc, but that takes too much time if I just want to edit a few songs.

Nope. Hopefully os 4.6 or even 5.0 will have that capability.

Sorry for bumping such an old topic, but I found it and I wanted to know if there are any 3rd-party apps to edit ID3 tags directly from the BB?

Not aware of any. I've plugged in the usb and used Tag/Rename and MediaMonkey on the BB as a drive on my computer.
I had been looking for this same thing for a while myself and finally had the thought to not search for specifically a Blackberry app to do this, but simply a Java mobile app. what I came across was JMP3Tag. You can get it at: JMp3Tag | Download JMp3Tag software for free at SourceForge.net and also by searching on softpedia.com. I have been using it a bit so far on my Torch and does the job, though occasionally it displays strangely.
Also make sure when you open it, go to the in app Settings and choose 'Yes' for overwrite existing. Otherwise your tag changes do not save.
That is wonderful. I have been looking for this as well. I hate plugging in my BB just to edit tags. The program is a little quirky, but it gets the job done. Thanks man.
You're welcome. I'm just happy to be able to share it with someone who finds it as useful as I do.
Search for a free program called Mtag. It worked for me and allow to change the tags while in the music app.
