Got a notification from the ebay app today cause an auction that I was watching was ending soon. I checked my watched items to clear the notification but it never went away. So I also checked my won items, bidding, didn't win, and nothing clears the notification. Also tried a battery pull. Wont go away. How are you supposed to clear it?

Please explain what you figured out. I uninstalled it for the same reason. I really liked it other than that.
yeah, I'm having the same problem. Let us know what you did. I had to turn ebay notifications off completely because no matter what I did the damn little icon stayed in my notification area. Even now there's a red star on the ebay app.
Look in the Messages folder. What a totally LAME setup this is.
so you have to delete it from the messages folder for it to go away? I don't understand.
Yep, you have to clear the notification from the messages folder. I have my messages folder hidden which is why I didn't think to check their. Plus i think thats kind of a dumb way to have it setup.
That's really a bummer - I have my messages folder hidden also!
Ebay app is slow as ****. Bought something on 12 11 2009 and just got a notification 20 minutes ago saying i won the item
that happened to me too. bought something a few weeks before I even installed the app. Couple days after installation it told me congrats, I bought the item.

So by checking my messages folder (even though I didn't see anything in there pertaining to ebay), i was able to get the notification to go away, but the app itself still has the red star. Anyone figure out how to clear this?
go into your main messages folder...if you dont see it click the bb button and goto view folder and scroll up and you should see ebay messages folder
I may be wrong, but I think the red star stays on the ebay icon until the item that is ending soon has completed.
Mine went away as soon as I went into the message.

I have cleared my Ebay messages and the alert symbol is still there! How in the world do i get rid of this this?
Thanks Stevenj05 for the answer I was trying so hard to find! I had E-bay messages and was going crazy to figure out how to read them! So then decided to delete the E-bay app only to find out the messages were still there and that is when I found your post to go into my messages folder! Voila! YEA! Thanks so much! :)
I got mine to go away by going into my messages (I had none) click on the menu button next to the ball on your blackberry and go to options and deselect notifications. Really annoying, no idea what notification was notifying me for.
Thanks goodness for this thread. Just wasted 10 minutes clicking everything in my eBay application in order for this crappy notification to go away. It's a little ridiculous how it goes into your Messages section. Surely it should do some kind of 'bolding' of text in the application, where once clicked it goes away?
OMG after an hour of messing with this thing and rebooting, battery pulls, nearly deleting the dang app I decided to search and found this. What a completely ignorant setup. Some things on this phone I absolutely love and some UHG...........
