    We have released the final version. You can download the application at www.DriveSafe.ly - Download

    -----------------------------------------
    We are looking for some testers for the DriveSafe.ly open beta.

    If you haven't already heard about it, DriveSafe.ly is a service that
    makes TXTing and E-Mail safe while driving.

    Just open your browser on the Blackberry and navigate to Download

    Here's what it offers:

    * A service that reads your TXT and E-Mails out loud.
    * An Auto-Responder for TXT and E-Mails.
    * The best premium voices.
    * It's Free

    We hope you enjoy DriveSafe.ly,

    The DriveSafe.ly Team

    ****New Update**** 0.96

    Please update your Blackberry to the newest OS version.

    This update will only run on Blackberrys with OS 4.5 and higher.

    We have made some major changes to the internals of the applications.

    New Features

    • The app will detect your network settings so you no longer have to set them.
    • SMS issues for GSM phones should be resolved.
    • Bluetooth Support
    • Ability to turn off autorun
    • Select which E-Mail accounts you want to be read from.
    • DriveSafe.ly can read from your inbox. Press the Blackberry button with the message you want to be read aloud.
    • You can stop the messages from being read out loud by pressing the red button

    Just as a heads up to anyone trying out this program.
    When it is enabled, it will read your text message aloud, but then it will autorespond to the sender with a text message saying that you're driving and will be home soon.

    I deleted the application immediately. I don't like programs doing things like that without my permission.

    Agreed, I uninstalled for this reason too.

    And to ispeech, you posted its free and you are looking for people for the open beta, then why are most of the features locked out and require a key?

    We now let the user disable the auto-responder without a serial. Just go into advanced settings from the settings page.

    Where do I find the settings page? The only options I get are "enabled" & "disabled. And if I hit the menu button, I get "close".

    I'm getting the following error when I try to run it:
    Module DriveSafely does not match codfile timestamp of sibling module drivesafely-1

    Any ideas?

    I'm running v4.5 on a curve 8320.

    There should be a settings button at the bottom of the page. What is your OS version? We are in the process of adding a menu button.

    Ok just found it. But when I go to settings>advanced, I get a pop up message saying "You must have a valid serial for advanced settings".
    I have OS 4.5.131 and DriveSafe.ly version 0.9.

    May have been a little premature with my last post!
    Set it up, sms myself and nothing. Checked the autorespond to sms to check it was working and resent the sms.
    No voice but an interesting sms in reply:
