I tried opera but it was just to different for me. I can see why people like it though.

It's just personal preference. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. I actually have Opera, Bolt and the Native browsers and use each depending on what I'm doing/looking at.

One thing to consider - when the Rim servers went down a few weeks ago, none of the email or native browser would work. BUT Bolt (and possibly Opera) browser did work as it goes through a separate system. I generally don't use it but I had it installed. So I played with it.

I use opera mini 4.2 and like a lot better than the newer versions. Tried BOLT, but didn't like it as much. Use the native browser as well for certain situations.

Opera 5 beta doesn't seem to be compatible with the 9700 Bold. Some of the web pages that I frequent don't render well. I have used the bolt browser, but there are the same issues with some web pages. I have found that the native browser renders pages better than either of the two 3rd party browsers. The only thing I really like about bolt is that you can view videos within the site, but it takes so long for the video to play, that it isn't really worth it.

I only keep Opera to access my OWA work email. it does not work with the native BB browser. I do it rarely, usually when on vacation and not every day.

I have both Bolt and Opera on my 9700 to use depending on the web site I'm looking at. I have one non-BB message board that I like to frequent that doesn't seem to work with anything other than Bolt or else I would get rid of it and just use the native browser and Opera.

I tried Opera Mini 4.2 briefly on my 9700 over the weekend as I was having an issue with the BB browser. I personally disliked it intensely lol. Even when not having mobile view on it didn't display Web sites the way I expected to see them (my husband and I joked their motto of being "the fastest browser in the world" was because it chucked all the CSS out the window). I want Web sites to look just like they do on my PC, just smaller, and I can then enlarge them as I choose. I didn't see a zoom option at all in Opera.

    YMMV, of course.

Both versions of Opera have the option of viewing the web page in mobile or preview/layout view, just as you described.
