Do Weather Apps Mix Well??

Ok, for the first time since I've had my Storm2, it has reset itself several times in one day. This is very unusual for my S2 - it's behaved perfectly until now. I noticed this mainly while using edocrab, but it did reset while using another app also. I have NWSClient weather app running in the background (although it does not show up in the running apps when I press "Switch applications"). But it does update my screen icon w/ the temp, etc. My question is, does anyone know if running these weather apps, which constantly update, have any negative effect on other apps? For example, if the weather app is trying to update itself while another app is trying to use the internet. ??? I am stumped as to why my phone has suddenly decided to reboot itself once in a while.
