nyr2k2... found the shrink-a-os link -- thanks for the google tip.

So... if I'm thinking straight, it sounds like I should download the new OS (151?) and then run Shrink-a-OS on that? Have I got it?

That would be the absolute best bet, IMO.

nyr2k2: thanks for making it clear to me. I don't imagine you'd be willing to help me thru the process? Despite appearances, I'm not really all that stupid and can follow direction fairly well!

Yeah, absolutely. I'm still recovering post-sleep apnea surgery, and I have nowhere to be!

    IMO = In my opinion

    nyr2k2: Thanks!!!

Interestingly, I just got a CPAP machine for sleep apnea last week -- small world or what?

So... where does one start with this process?

And... is there any way to follow this thread without continually hitting 'refresh'?

Download .151 and install it to your machine. That's the first step. Also, download Shrink-A-OS if you want to do some additional memory saving.

As far as refreshing, no. My screen name on AOL Instant Messenger is nyr2k2, and I also have a Google Talk account, also nyr2k2. You can talk to me on that if you'd like.

I personally use CrackMem as I couldn't get Shrink-a-os to work for me, but that may be user error

As for following this thread, SUBSCRIBE to it by hitting Go Advanced and post from there, and be sure and get email notification by ticking that button before posting.

You may even be able to do it via EDIT>Go advanced from any of your previous posts.

Okay... I found the link to download Shrink-A-OS... where can i find .151 to download?

The links I originally posted appear to be working now. You should be good.

If not, go to Blackberry Storm forum > Storm OS Discussion > ** ALL Storm Software Links- Official & Betas**. Then scroll down to the 9530 section and click "Alternate links for 151".

Really nothing to do until .151 finishes downloading.

When it finishes downloading, run the file. It will start the installation. All you have to do is choose "English" when asked what language you want to use. Let it install in the default directories it lists.

My bad, I'm moderating a hockey forum I frequent. If I don't respond for a few minutes, it's because I'm chewing someone out over there.

Nope, it will do it all by itself.
