Ok, I just got my Torch today, and deleted the IM applications (except BBM) so that I could have more memory and after when i rebooted its was slower on the reboot, but after i installed them again it sped up. Anyone else experience that, not a big concern just noticed

    Never experience anything like that.

Do you realize how much app memory you have. There really is no need to delete a few MB of IM apps. I have 285MB left after installing an additional 18 apps.
It's you phone though so your choice.

The 303ish mb, would be the application memory for all your core and third party apps.

the 3.5GB memory would be for music, pictures and videos.

The 303MB is the storage remaining (out of 500MB) for apps. The portion of the 500MB already used is by the OS6 and native apps and what ever apps you installed so far.
On top of that you have 4GB of space 'built in to the device AND a 4GB microSD card, both of which, you can store any types of files you wish.
So to make it clear, this it what you have:
500MB it uses for OS6 and apps
4GB+4GB (8GB) for files (pics, music, videos, documents, ect.)

Many apps are as little as 150kb to 2 or 3Mb. You could potentially load 100's of apps with the remaining memory.
Like I mentioned, I have 18 popular apps loaded and 285MB free.
