People working with the 9700 ,do you think this app is good? Noticed any glitches ? An alternative to 'beyond 160' but is it trust worthy as far as performance and stability?
Thanks

Interface looks good but once a text comes in, i get the same text on the default blackberry message. So im getting copies of the same text. One in blackberry one in crunch. I haven't figured out how to integrate crunchsms as the main text client.
If I remember correctly that option is available.

Go to options>security options>firewall>enable firewall and check sms box and that will block them. You can't have crunch go into your native sms

To stop the duplicate messages, u have to go into options, security, firewall then check the box for block sms. You will only get text msgs via crunch.
To answer the original Q, the app is great, only down side is I haven't figured out how to use it w my berrybuzz.

Yea that is what I recall hearing. It was on a video tutorial on you tube.

I downloaded crunchSMS yesterday it's awesome, I blocked regular sms messages like the others said and it's a sweet user interface. Try it out...
in a review some one complained how after an update the names of people whom sms are being received from does not display, just a phone number.
I've learned to be patient with updates on tech devices as sometimes they need some time to work out bugs. My first experience was with the quick pull app. It was great I had it working great for a good amount of time, but after I updated it,it went bizerk.

Has crunch sms been modified to work with mms yet?
I had it on my bb before, but seemed a little worthless because it didn't work with mms, and the 9700 automatically has thread sms.

I personally haven't had any problems with crunch. Works flawlessly for me. If you want your sms to look prettier then I say give it a try; it is free.

Not only pretty but it extends the amount of text allowed in a message right?

That's what I've been told but I typically don't send very long text messages so I'm not really sure. Sorry

Excellent!! Thank you! I deleted this app when I first downloaded it because I was so annoyed with the dual messages. Works like a charm now.

I downloaded the app after reading several review pages. It seems good except that it dosnt cover mms. I'm guessing In my case I would just let the native bb sms app run while also running crunch sms for its beyond 160 feature. Except for one thing I noticed while testing my native text client ,that if goes beyond one 160. As you pass the text limit per page it jumps onto the next page and so on. If this is the case I have no use for the crunch sms app.
I'm going to delete it in a bit to see if this is the case. Ill let you all know the results.

I just ran the test. I deleted crunch sms and proceeded with an extra long text and sent it out. After so many words in my text the native sms client jumped to three pages on its own.
Now I'm waiting to see if it has properly been received.

I sent an sms to someone using a none smart phone and they told me they where able to view the whole message (which was way beyond 160 characters). I used the native bb sms app

Well I'm not sure if I'm not looking hard enough or what, but it seems that crunchsms has an alert on it that is preset. I can't seem to find the option to chaange or turn it off. Any ideas? Also, if I block the original sms and use crunch, am I missing out on all mms sent to me? Those won't bypass the firewall?

I think this application is very good. Can't believe it's free with all sorts of customization!
I gave it a go.
Very pretty colours.
Beyond that I don't see the magic of it that others see.
Deleted now

You have to go into your sound profiles to create/change alerts for sms.
If you block SMS that's it. All you are blocking is SMS, your MMS messages will still be received, you just won't receive them in crunch.

This makes my Tour's sms actually useful! Cant wait for mms integration (if they are in fact planning on it. seems like they are).
I love crunchsms. It's totally worth it, and it's free. If you don't like it, you can always delete it.
I just installed this on my Blackberry Bold 9000 about two days ago and tried using it, and I like its functionality but the two problems I had were what one person had already posted (receiving text messages into different folders which is a quick fix) and the other one being the screen freezing up on me when I tried to delete a conversation which forced me to have to shut it down and reboot. I uninstalled the application, but would really like it if it did not freeze up on me all the time. I e-mailed their help center and they seem to be useless as they only direct you to their FAQ support forum.
I liked how it made a longer text message one paragraph and the little balloon interface that you can adjust the colors on, but it's going to be unstable on any of the Blackberry bold products it's not worth the application memory. Just my two cents worth.
I'm havin trouble w/ sendin messages on this app, and I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problems- whenever I send a message, it replys "error in seending, or watever" and I can't send it, please help!
