Question to everybody - when you set Birthday & Anniversary Date in Contacts application, does it automatically appear as recurring events in Calendar application?

Our experience is on several different devices / OS versions is that this info is automatically imported in Calendar, similar to what's described in this article:

BUT some users have different observations - they do not see birthdays in their calendar - example can be found in this thread.

How does your device behave ? Any known issues related to this workflow ? Any secret settings that one needs to configure ?
