I really like the Berry Buzz and the attention that it gets from other BB users but saw. Color ID in the BB App World. Has anyone tried Color ID?

No I haven't used ColorID but after reading thru what it can do I'm certain BerryBuzz is far more useful plus it has the option to use the famous disco flashing lights.

The disco lights have definitely garnered a great deal of attention from other BB users and non-users alike.

I would like to see a feature that allow customization down to the specific caller so that you could id the caller when the device is on vibrate at the office.

I have to admit I purchased the BerryBuzz. Partially due to the disco light that I love. Not a bad app and it is on sale. It was hard to pass up.

ColorID and BerryBuzz are actually quite different...ColorID lets you assign colors & variations to SPECIFIC email addresses/domains, incoming caller numbers, and sms messages - so JCP007, this app does what you're asking for.

If you want something to alert you to specific callers email, text etc, you have to have both BerryBuzz AND SmartAlerts. I have them both and they work beautifully. I have seperate leds and tones for both my family and my work

I appreciate the offer. Let me think about it. What is the difference between SmartAlerts and Color ID? I know that Smart Alerts need Berry Buzz to work. Is Color ID one app in place of two?

No disco on color ID. It alternates 2 colors.
I noticed a rediculas memory leak when I installed it, 2 MB/hour until my phone was at 22 MB (usually sits at about 50) I decided to uninstall it.

Berrybuzz and SA do the trick for me and then some.

I bought ColorID also & it is a memory eater. And I'm always having to "reset" it to work (enable all & a BP).
    Nice app if they would:
    Fix the memory leak
Fix it so it would work 100% of the time
    And add BBM notification.
I am now looking into an alternative application b/c this is getting un-installed tomorrow.

Wow. I never got the whole point of these led apps, since if I can see the led....I can see the screen.

It is just an entertaining way to be alerted to emails, sms, calls or calendar date on the phone especially if the phone is in the holster or on a desktop at an angle. Not a "real" necessity.

    Thanks for the clarification jcp007.

I have a flip holster, but I guess it doesn't apply to everyone.

If you have your device on your desk and the email pops up and you don't see it and the device is not displaying the screen because it has been set to display only for a set time. It is an extravagant but fun.

I have color Id on my curve, it's not bad but it's not great. It's always running in the background, seems to slow the phone. I set my colors to my important people so I know I should check my bb not put it off,
It doesn't work with bbm I'm hoping they fix these things and add bbm soon. I always get my apps on sale....just in case!
