I think on the Tour you can just press and hold the BB/menu button for a few seconds, but if not, press and hold the ALT key and the back key at the same time.
Those didn't work? Unless I am doing something wrong which is quite possible
Are you pressing and holding both ALT and the back arrow button key together at the same time without letting go of either?
its says:
applications in this folder will be moved to main applications list.
Delete applications?
I would stop now. Last thing you need is to delete something without knowing what it is.
You are looking for Switch Applications. It is the bottom menu choice from almost any applications or on the Home Screen when you press Menu.
BlackBerry is designed to be multi-tasking. The most important programs are always available. Others can be open while in use and closed when not needed.
Keyboard shortcuts should be common with QWERTY keyboard models. The Tour and Bold are close cousins, very close.
I completely forgot about "Switch Applications" in the menu. :p
Just curious, you're not pressing the delete key instead of the back arrow key which is the 1st key to the right of the trackball next to end... right?
I found "Switch Application" but when I go to that it brings up a box in the middle with Phone, BB Messenger, Home screen, Messages, Browser
I want to close all running applications...is there an easy way to do this after using each app?
OK yes was using the wrong key :( but even when using the correct keys it brings up BB Messenger or my email...what am I doing wrong?
I am normally not technically challenged...thanks for your patience, it is GREATLY appreciated!
For this just press the BB/menu button and select Close.
But the 5 apps you mentioned above cannot be fully closed down and will always appear in that list.
ok so you are saying if I had any apps running, it would appear in that box?
On my the home screen next to where the email icon is its says 3 and then the Facebook icon right next to it...is this telling me FB is running or I have 3 apps running? I did use three apps this evening when playing around.
No, that means you have 3 unread messages, or facebook notifications. Check them.
There is no indicator showing how many apps you have running.
Also, instead of hitting the end key to close out an app, hit the bb menu key, scroll down and hit close.
Yes, any open apps would appear in there.
It's hard to tell what you're talking about... It's either that you have 3 new emails or 3 new Facebook notifications. It doesn't mean that Facebook is running. If it was, it would appear in the Switch Applications screen.
Hang in there CarolNJ. We all scratched our heads over these phones once. You'll get the hang of it in no time.

ok it must mean 3 new facebook notifications then...because I read my emails and the new emails icon went away.
I went to FB and read all new notifications and that icon is still there?
Is there a BB for Dummies site LOL
There is!!! :p

Thank you so much for helping me...the icon is now gone because I once again was not doing the right thing LOL
I will definitely check that site out!
