I have contacted my system admin and telus. He is done this so far on BES
blackberry domain

click on service control and customization
disable enterprise service policy - done
disallow third party app. downloads :false
and disable blackberry app world : false
Appreciate your help,
It's an IT policy that is not allowing you to purchase apps. There is a howto thread in the HowTo section of the crackberry forums that will allow you to remove the policy altogether.

Where is this policy? I am not sure where to find it.
Yes I agree. he has looked at policy and changed it. is there a specific option to switch?
Appreciate it,
did he find another rule after you posted what he changed above? Those aren't it.
Under BES 5.0.2 it's in the Blackberry App World folder and the specific rule is called "Enabll Wireless Service Provider Billing" Make sure that is set to yes.
It will then take 15-30 minutes for the updated IT policy to be pushed to your phone.

No he didn't' So theres an app world folder on BES 5.0.2 and there is rule in there or did you mean on device?
Unless your company has paid for BES maintenance/support from RIM, you will need to purchase it. I'm not sure if you also need to purchase CALs over again.

I think they have. is there an easy way to find this option?
If your company has it, then its as easy as downloading the installation package and performing the install. I actually only started on BES5 so I have no idea how easy it was to go from 4 to 5.
Easist thing to do for be for your BES admin to call RIM and find out what the options are.
Problem with this is, your problem won't be fixed today..
